The error 'APN is not specified' results from an attempt to use TCP/IP as the connection type for a session while the Internet APN settings of the device are not configured correctly.

Typically, the Internet APN settings can be obtained from the wireless carrier.  The location of the Internet APN settings will vary on different devices, but typically are found under Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP/IP.
